What is influencing your life most? Is it not your idea of the world and its realities? Or at least perceived reality. It is this sense of reality that can be your best ally or enemy in recognizing the influence of an evil spirit.
Spiritual influence is much more suttle than we might expect and for the untrained or those who shares a worldview with an enemy of your soul, it is very difficult to detect the working of a suttle influence.
Demons all carry a lie to propagate. Their working or reason for operating is always based on a lie. When agreement with this lie builds a worldview that rationalizes its existance we call it a stronghold of the mind. Strongholds of the mind are used to build fortresses.
A fortress I is something that is less symbolic and takes on a form of expression. Fortresses are external and are like houses or buildings that houses and reinforces certain worldviews.
A fortress can be something like a specific industry or a law or anything that is an expression of false worldview. A fortress is also a safe haven for the specific worldview that created it. The fortress gives the idea staying-power in the physical world. The most effective means for doing this is recorded words.
Demonic influence starts with the individual and strives to have an expression in the physical realm. These influences usually starts with an undetected thought or agreement with a specific worldview that has already been fortified in society.
By getting to know God through the Scripture and His gifts in men and women, we can much more easily discern the work of an evil spirit.
