These analyzing yourself in these three areas can help you to more effective in releasing God’s word and make it easier for those who need to receive and act upon God’s word. It will also enable you to better fulfill other prophetic functions such as counsel and prayer.
Attitude
Some prophetic types have a tendency towards negative ministry. The reason for this is because it is so easy to see faults. It is much harder to train yourself to have a faithfilled outlook on life and on the lives of others. Having good attitude goes a long way in life in general. Having a healthy attitude is generally a sign of a healthy lifestyle which is gravely needed by every prophetic type to ensure that their ministry is a prolonged one. It is also an accurate reflection of God’s attitude.
Activities
The type of activities that will require your attention may digfer from time to time. However the more important activities includes prayer/music ministry unto God, scripture study and getting and interpreting revelations.
The prophetic type, if called for, must engage in more administrative tasks and meetings as well. These meetings may give the person greater insight in what to contend for in prayer. Spending time with other gifts will also help you to see their need and understand the Lord’s wisdom in giving them all to the body. The motivations for each of the gifts the Lord has given to the church differs and it is imperative that the prophetic type become versed in these through experience.
Building Relationships
Relationships allows the person to be connected to the body, it’s needs and its shortcomings. It also gives the prophetic person valuable insight into what ministry will help the body to fulfill its mandate. The prophetic person can also help to remove individual obstacles in the work of the Lord. However the allegiance of the prophet is always to the Lord’s heart and mind.
Prophesying isn’t the only way that the prophetic type can ensure that God’s work is effectively done. Taking a holistic approach to the prophetic ministry will ensure that the service the person provides is effective in forwarding God’s agenda. Positioning yourself within the body of Christ is essential in providing effective prophetic ministry.
